Tomorrow
Tomorrow is the 6th anniversary of September 11th. I’m not so sure I am ready for it, again.
While I was nowhere close to New York, Washington D.C., or Shanksville, Pennsylvania on the morning of September 11th, I did have several close friends in the New York area, and the company I work for is located just 27 miles from the Pentagon.
I was sitting at my desk that morning, but had forgotten to turn on the television like I always do. When I finally got my butt in gear and turned on the tv, I did so just as the second plane slammed into the second tower.
I said it at the time, and it still applies now. Our lives will never be the same.
Annual Picnics
Years ago, when I was a kid, my favorite time of the year was the weekend of the annual picnic for the place my mother worked.
They had all sorts of activities for the kids, including playing frisbee, a giant haystack with coins hidden within in, RC airplanes flying all over the place, and the best part, spending time with a great group of people.
Why don’t more companies have annual events for the family anymore?

Headaches Run In The Family
My grandmother used to get really bad headaches and neck aches. She suffered from them all the time. My mother used to get them all the time, and now my sister and I get them too.
I sure would like to know what causes them, because when they hit, unbearable doesn’t even begin to explain the pain. I have read that you can now get Botox for migraines, and there is some evidence that it works.
Too bad it wasn’t available when my grandmother needed it.
Where Were You?
I was 12 years old when Elvis died. Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of his death, and I have never felt older.
I have never been a die-hard Elvis fan, but I don’t turn off the radio if he comes on. I don’t remember what I was doing the day he died, but I’m sure it had something to do with escaping the hot August sun in Southern Nevada.
Today, Lisa Marie Presley is releasing a new recording of “In The Ghetto”. Thanks to the wonders of the digital revolution, she is performing it with her dad. It will be interesting to hear it, that’s for sure.
So, where were you when Elvis died, and what’s your favorite Elvis song?
We’re Never Happy Are We?
When we moved into our house, the lighting was absolutely horrible. The first thing we did was go from room to room changing all of the light fixtures so we could actually see what we were doing.
It’s amazing, no matter how much you like a house when you buy it, you always spend the first couple of years, and a boatload of money, changing the things you don’t like.

A Random Memory
When we were little we had bunk beds in our room. We loved them. You could go on all sorts of adventures if you had bunk beds. One day you could pretend you were sailing a ship and the next day you could make believe you were in the lookout post of of a fort.
We had those bunk beds for a long time, I wonder what ever happened to them?
