On this day in 1978, Karol Wojtyla was elected Pope John Paull II.
Pope John Paul II never took any Vegas vacations when I lived there, and that was quite disappointing. I would have liked to have seen him, but he never came close enough to where I was living at the time. He was a great man who changed the world.

On this day in 1979, Styx released one of their biggest hits ever.
Wow. Has it been 29 years? I feel old. Really old. After watching this video, it makes me want to break out the exercise equipment and start working out again. I need to lose a few pounds. When this song was released, I weighted about 125 pounds. I don’t want to get that thin again, but 160 would be nice.

The BailOut Fiasco: The Vote
The U.S. Senate votes on the $700 billion bailout.
I haven’t been this disappointed in a long time. I spent time today browsing for new car insurance and possibly a new homeowners policy, only to find I was now the proud “partial” owner of millions of homes across America. I would hate to see the insurance bill for all that.
It’s a disappointing day for America.
