Who’s The Hound Dog?

On this day in 1952, Willie Mae Thornton recorded the original version of ‘Hound Dog’. Yeah, and you thought it was an Elvis song.

An awesome performance. Did she make any money after Elvis recorded it? Did she have people helping her with budgeting and planning so she could get her share of the Hound Dog Pie? I hope so, because she deserved it.
