Pope John Paul II Is Shot

On this day in 1981, Pope John Paul II was shot by Mehmet Ali Agca.

Throughout my life I haven’t wanted to travel the world much at all. There are just a few places I have ever wanted to go. I did want to visit Italy though, and see Pope John Paul II. Of course, you need a passport to do that, and well, I just never took the time to get mine back then.
