Not As Bad As I Once Was

Years ago, when I was having some serious credit issues, I tried my best, but my credit got worse and worse over time. In fact, it finally got to the point that my phone was ringing more because of a commercial collection agency than any other reason. Once they start calling, it seems you can never get them to stop, so it’s best to work out a payment arrangement if you can. I learned the hard way.

How Far Do You Want To Go?

When it comes to making ends meet, I do a great job. But I work hard everyday to try and do more.

Many people work their entire lives living paycheck to paycheck, never able to get ahead of the game, and I just don’t want to be one of those people my entire life.

Live In The Two is a website with a test that allows you to see yourself in a different life, and provides a customized profile about who you are right now. They also offer self improvement tips on how to change to become one of those people who lives in the top 2%, aka those who don’t live paycheck to paycheck.

My results were quite surprising, at least to me. My discipline and passion were no surprise, but the other profile results for risk and optimism were above what I thought they would be. It was obvious that my interpersonal skills needed improvement, even though I am quite the extrovert when I am in a group of people.

Basically, my bet is I am like most people in most aspects of the test results, but the difference, at least for me, is that I am going to use the results to better myself. I am going to use these self improvement results to make sure that I get into that 2 percent and start living a happier, stress-free life.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the 6th anniversary of September 11th. I’m not so sure I am ready for it, again.

While I was nowhere close to New York, Washington D.C., or Shanksville, Pennsylvania on the morning of September 11th, I did have several close friends in the New York area, and the company I work for is located just 27 miles from the Pentagon.

I was sitting at my desk that morning, but had forgotten to turn on the television like I always do. When I finally got my butt in gear and turned on the tv, I did so just as the second plane slammed into the second tower.

I said it at the time, and it still applies now. Our lives will never be the same.

Annual Picnics

Years ago, when I was a kid, my favorite time of the year was the weekend of the annual picnic for the place my mother worked.

They had all sorts of activities for the kids, including playing frisbee, a giant haystack with coins hidden within in, RC airplanes flying all over the place, and the best part, spending time with a great group of people.

Why don’t more companies have annual events for the family anymore?

Software Shouldn’t Be Difficult

I was sitting here tonight, remembering our dial-up ISP we used to own. Man, those were the days. The days were long, and the billing software was a pain in the … yeah, you get the idea.

When it comes to shopping cart software, packages are a dime a dozen. It takes time and patience to find the right solution at the right price, at the right time.

My wife runs her own online business and has been searching for a good shopping cart solution. She has tried a couple of them and has always walked away disappointed. Her requirements shouldn’t be that hard to meet. She wants something that’s easy to use, reliable, and inexpensive. We’ve had our share of expensive shopping cart software, that’s for sure.

Recently she found Ashop Commerce which has top-rated technical and customer support, a price tag starting at just $39.95, and a free trial that would be easy for anyone to install, no matter their level of computer knowledge. Ashop Commerce is definitely one of the best solutions we have come across in our search.
