1957: Perry Mason Debuts
On this day, in 1957 Perry Mason appeared on CBS.
I love kicking back in our home theater and watching all of these old shows on our big screen television. Ahh, life is good. Then again, just kicking back and relaxing makes me happy these days.
Since were on the topic of Ramond Burr, I wish they would show the old Ironside shows. That’s a show I haven’t seen in a while.

I Dream Of Jeannie Debuts
On this day in 1965, I Dream Of Jeannie debuted on NBC.
I love me some Barbara Eden.
When I watched that clip from the first episode I immediately began wishing I was at the beach, or could be at the beach this coming weekend. I love heading down to Panama City Beach, and staying in one of their Condo Hotels or rental houses. Needless to say, a major project is keeping me grounded this weekend, so the only beach I will see will be in my mind.
Stepping Back In Time
We spent the entire afternoon today at Sweetwater Creek State Park for New Manchester Days.
We had a blast.
New Manchester was the name of the town that built up around the mill on Sweetwater Creek. The textile mill was rolling out tons of material for the Confederate Army when Sherman ordered troops to burn it.
The mill has been fenced off for years, and everytime we hike down the trail we wonder what it would be like to look at it from the inside. Well, today we found out. They were giving guided tours to the mill, and allowed visitors to venture inside the decaying walls to see what it was like.
Here are some images of the mill, you can click them for a better look.
While we were there, we saw firearms demonstrations, a union army camp, people dressed in the clothing of the era, and a reptile show. I am not sure how the reptile show fits in other than the fact that all of the creatures in the show are native to Georgia.
So, what did you do this weekend?

Green Acres Debuts On CBS
On this day, in 1965, Green Acres debuted on CBS.
I can’t believe I actually watched this show, although it’s still funny if you ask me.
On a side note, we have been looking for some land with an old farmhouse, where we could grow our own sustainable garden, and have room for a few chickens and cows. We’re getting just a bit sick of the artificial flavors and additives that have the potential to cause so many problems. What’s the point of eating foods that may cause problems with your health and require you to take nutritional supplements? Why not eat the fresh natural stuff, which tastes better anyway?
I guess you could say we’re looking for our very own Green Acres.
The Waltons Debuts On CBS
On this day, in 1972, The Waltons premiered on CBS.
Are we really getting that old?
Imagine What Could Be
It’s not old, and it’s not a memory, but I thought you might want to see the future, or what could be the future.
Pretty awesome schtuff if you ask me. Technology and invention are always amazing me. Last week I was looking at new berndes cookware. Our old Revere pans are literally falling apart, and I thought stainless steel pans were all the same. That definitely is not true. Even stainless steel pans have improved over the past 20 years.
I’m A Daydream Believer
On this day in 1966, The Monkees debuted on NBC.
I love The Monkees. I don’t care if they could sing or not. I could care less if they could act or not. The Monkees were fun, and they still are. They represent something people in America are losing, and that’s the ability to make fun of themselves and just enjoy some things for what they are.
